A night of Flamenco in Barcelona at the Jazz Si Club.

Hidden away in the neighbourhood of El Raval is the amazing Jazz Si Club. You'll find it buried away at 2 Requesens. On Fridays at 9pm they have Flamenco. It is a small intimate club that was packed when we arrived, with a great atmosphere.

I must admit it. I did have a Vicky Christina Barcelona moment, where a  fell  in love with Flamenco. I don't know if it was the guitar playing, the singing, the dancing, the small intimate atmosphere, the vibe of the crowd, but I was swept away by the power and passion of the occasion. Passion, is probably the distinctive feature of Flamenco.

Of course, I had absolutely no idea what they were singing, but you couldn't help but feel the emotion expressed in the music and dance. It is difficult to describe in words and you have to experience it, probably best in a small venue like this one.

If you are in Barcelona, then definitely drop by the Jazz Si Club.
