It's only 12 weeks to go until the Central Europe trip, so I'll be able to escape an Australian winter (not that it is that bad) for a European summer. Well, at least for four weeks, as I have to return for the Second Semester of Uni. However, I should be able to fit in a little of Germany, Poland, Hungary, and maybe Slovakia and Austria.
Fortunately, there will be a one night stop over at Dubai on both legs , which is an advantage of Qantas partnering with Emirates. It's only about six hours to Prague from there.
I don't know if I mentioned it before, but I've bought a Apple IPAD Mini to replace by beloved Netbook computer that is even handier. It slips into the pocket of my cargo shorts, and has completely replaced my Netbook. I bought the Logitech keyboard, which acts as the cover and the whole thing weighs about 500 grams. I'm a big fan of the IPAD Mini, because it's great for travelling; you can take okay pictures with it, have all your books, movies and games all on one light convenient device.
The less that you have to lug around when the travel the better you will be. I'm even just thinking about taking one daypack as carry on and not bringing the big backpack. Don't laugh there are people who travel the world with just a daypack.
